What to do when water damage occurs?
The IICRC recomends the following actions to minimize damage while waiting for help to arrive.
-
First and foremost, stop the water leak and attend to obvious
-
Increase airflow with open windows, fans and heating and air conditioning systems.
-
Open doors, drawers, cupboards and closets to maintain optimal air circulation and promote drying.
-
Move furnishings out of wet areas or protect furniture legs from absorption and damage with triple folded aluminum foil.
-
Hang up drapries and pin up upholstrey skirts to prevent water rings: allow leather items to dry at room temperature.

A flooded basement after a sanitary sewer break. The water level was several feet deep. After the water was removed and the room was dried, this basement was returned to it's original condition.
With our 24-hour emergency service, our certified technicians can be on site to evaluate the situation and get the environment under control. The reduction of humidity and control of temperature levels will help prevent secondary damage such as swelling, splitting, delamination, absorption or fungal growth.
Upon arrival at the site, the extent of the damage is immediately assessed using a variety of meters, visual inspections and interviews with the property owner. The information we gather helps us devise a comprehensive drying plan. With the proper balance of dehumidification, air movement and temperature manipulation, moisture is forced from the wet structure and contents. The job site is monitored and readings documented daily. Successful completion is verified through a variety of moisture detecting instruments and a visual inspection. These procedures allow Concraft to thoroughly, quickly and efficiently dry all effected areas.
Structural drying is a science requiring an understanding of the dynamics of surrounding conditions, how to create and maintain the ideal environment, and how to manage the process through successful completion. The manager of our water loss division is a certified Water Loss Specialist (WLS) who has passed extensive training in this area.
